Real Superhero
“They will
F***ing kill you if you say the wrong thing!”
Yes, Maher was
referring to Muslims when he yelled out those words on national TV!
During a heated
debate over Islamic radicalism, and comparing Islam to the ‘mafia’, Oscar
winning actor and director Ben Affleck spoke out like the true Idol he really
is! The ‘Gone Girl’ star stunned the audience during his appearance on US talk show Real
Time With Bill Maher on Friday, calling the host out on his
racist views towards Islam.
Ben Affleck was
literally grossed out by the host’s remarks, who obviously had no idea how to
deliver his argument in a logical and respectable way. Actually, the 10-minute
raw brought about even more important questions: What does Bill Maher really
know about Islam? Where is he getting his information? The media? If the popular
TV show host is too busy learning about Islamic doctrines on the CNN, instead
of doing his homework, let us do it for him! There is no shame in asking for
help Maher! No shame at all!
Slam 1: Islam Is The Mother
Lode Of Bad Ideas
Bill Maher slates
the world’s fastest growing religion, saying it’s a ‘fact’ that Islam promotes
‘bad ideas’. Seriously? Where did he read that, in the “Big Book Of Facts”?
Everyone, please
take out your dictionaries and search what the word ‘fact’ means. Call me
crazy, but I’m backed up by almost 2 billion Muslims around the world who can
attest to the falsehood of this statement. I think the words Bill Maher and Sam
Harris were looking for are: ‘subjective bigoted opinion’.
Not that Islam
needs defending, but the Holy Qur’an is the only book on the planet that
explains astronomy, psychology, medicine, history, embryology, cosmology and so
much more, long before scientists even existed. It was Muslims who changed the
world, invented and contributed to surgery, mathematics, windmills, soap,
architecture, printing press… to mention a few. If all of the above are not
great ideas that shaped the way we live in today, then I don’t know what is!
Slam 2: Muslims Kill Those
Who Leave Their Religion
For the love of
God people! Has anyone heard of citation? The Holy Qur’an is accessible. Take
the time to read it please!
“And say, "The truth is from your Lord, so whoever wills - let him believe; and whoever wills - let him disbelieve." (Holy Qur’an 18:29)
“Nor will I be a worshipper of what you
worship. Nor will you be worshippers of what I worship. For you is your
religion, and for me is my religion”
(Holy Qur’an 109:4-6)
“O you who have believed, whoever of you
should revert from his religion - Allah will bring forth [in place of them] a
people He will love and who will love Him [who are] humble toward the
believers, powerful against the disbelievers; they strive in the cause of Allah
and do not fear the blame of a critic. That is the favor of Allah ; He bestows
it upon whom He wills. And Allah is all-Encompassing and Knowing.” (Holy Qur’an 5:54)
Slam 3: Muslims Hold Views
That Are Deeply ‘Troubling’
Apparently it’s
another ‘fact’ that Islam holds disturbing views about homosexuality, human
rights, and women. Okay, first things first, let’s see what the Holy Bible says
about sodomy.
“If a man lies with a male as with a woman,
both of them have committed an abomination; they shall surely be put to death;
their blood is upon them.” (Leviticus 20:13)
“Or do you not know that the unrighteous will
not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually
immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality.”
(1 Corinthians 6:9)
What does the
Bible say about women?
“Let a woman learn in silence with all
submissiveness. I permit no woman to teach or have authority over men; she is
to keep silent. For Adam was formed first, then Eve; and Adam was not deceived,
but the woman was deceived and became a transgressor. Yet woman will be saved
through bearing children, if she continues in faith and love and holiness, with
modesty.” 1 Timothy 2:11-15
There
is a whole chapter in the Qur’an dedicated to women’s rights; another chapter
explains the rules of divorce, and yet another chapter in the honor of Mary,
Jesus’s mother. Islam preaches peace, forgiveness, charity, kindness to the
poor and orphans, piety, modesty, healthy habits and justice. But
unsurprisingly, haters who are threatened by the truth do not broadcast these
principles and teachings.
Prophet
Muhammad (PBUH) said: “Feed the hungry, and visit a sick person, and free the
captive, if he be unjustly confined. Assist any person oppressed, whether
Muslim or Non-Muslim”.
He
also said (PBUH): “Beware! Whoever oppresses a non-Muslim living in Muslim land or snatches any of his rights or
causes him pain which he cannot bear, or take anything from him without his
permission, then I will personally fight against such a Muslim on the Day of Judgment!”
(Sunnan Abu Dawud, Hadith No.3052)
Now
how is that for human rights, huh?
Slam 4: 90%
Of Muslims Approve Of Violence
Says a citizen
of the United States, the top country providing weapons to the Middle East! Yet
Muslims protected churches and Christians protected Muslims during prayers in
the Arab protests. Pakistani Muslims formed a human chain to protect Christians
during mass in 2013. Where was the coverage of that piece of news? Islam
condemns violence performed by Muslims and non-Muslims alike. There are
literally hundreds of Hadiths and Quranic verses to prove it.
It’s sad how the
same people who call for freedom, goodwill and liberty, are the same ones who
are so narrow-minded, ignorant and biased. Islam is a beautiful peaceful
religion; it’s the true word of God and is flawless in every possible aspect.
No wonder the conversion rate to Islam has increased by 235% in the past half
century! And just like there are good and bad Christians and Jewish people,
there are good and bad Muslims. Islam is perfect, but Muslims aren’t. So if
attackers are looking to criticize, let them criticize and bash the actions,
not the faith itself! I pray for everyone, especially pubic speakers, to
understand the difference between ‘disagreement’ and ‘pure hate’. Instead of
being told what to think and what to say by a prejudiced media that strives on
distorting facts, let them use their brains to put forth sound arguments and reasonable
logic! That’s when they’ll earn our respect, just like Ben Affleck did. He
gained the love and admiration of millions and made them do the happy dance,
not because he’s Muslim, but because he’s a fair man who is brave enough to
stand up for the truth.
Now that’s a
superhero, don’t you think?
